3D Objects Animated in NASA World Wind

The Earth is Square shortly explain a plugin which allows NASA World Wind to display animated 3D objects. You'll find the demo here [loads a 8MB avi file]. From the blog: "This is a start and still needs to be fine tuned, but just imagine tracking 3D model versions of planes and ships in real time within World Wind."

3D Video Inside Google Earth [+]
The Google Earth Blog shows a demonstration of using 3D videos inside Google Earth. From the blog: "In his example, he took a short clip of a drag race and placed it on a simulated large TV screen at a race park near Phoenix, Arizona. [...] This idea of Joey's is a pretty cool idea for visualizing what would be possible with a proper 3D video plug-in for GE. SecondLife (the free to try virtual world application) already makes extensive use of 3D video and audio plug-ins inside their 3D metaverse."
